As someone who suffers from acne-prone skin, I am used to trying to find products that tackle redness. Inflammation and acne spots never look good on the skin. But, in recent months, I have tested a hybrid moisturiser / spot treatment that does the trick. And the colour is so pretty and blue! So for all of you out there who are looking to reduce skin redness – let me introduce you to the Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream.
The Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream contains a special ingredient called guaiazulene. This little compound is sourced from camomile oil and is responsible for the beautiful blue colour that this product has. The 0.03% of guaiazulene in this formula is incredible at rapidly soothing inflamed skin and regenerating skin cells to heal breakouts. It does this through its antioxidant properties and ability to alleviate the red swelling stages of acne. This cream also contains other beneficial ingredients like centella asiatica (also assists in skin regeneration), ceramide 3, and jojoba seed oil.
I use the Midnight Blue Calming Cream in the morning and evening like a spot treatment under my moisturiser. Dear, Klairs recommends using it as the last step, so you could also use it on top of your moisturiser. The texture is reasonably thick but it spreads well and sinks in straight away. All I do is apply it to any areas on my skin that appear to be more red or inflamed from a current or upcoming breakout (usually cheeks and chin). In the morning, my skin is so much clearer and free from redness. I have tried a lot of products that reduce skin redness and there’s never been one quite like this one. You can also slather this on if you’ve been suffering from sunburn (though hopefully you won’t need it – use your sunscreen!).
Yours,
Kait x
