Honey – my new favourite skincare ingredient

Masks aren’t usually a staple in my skincare routine. I used to float between one or two when I had some extra time for self care, but never used any consistently. I gravitate towards hydrating masks – Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask is a go-to. It wasn’t until I found I’m From’s Honey Mask that I truly fell in love with masks. Not only is the texture beautiful, but the results are magic. It’s an experience. Compared to all other hydrating masks, this one is unmatched. Let me tell you why I love this product and why honey is now my new favourite skincare ingredient.

Why honey?

Honey is the perfect hydrator because it is a humectant. Meaning, it draws water into the skin. Honey honestly has almost every benefit you could need. It’s antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and acts as an anti-viral and anti-fungal. Because of these properties, honey is great for combatting acne and clearing your pores. It’s also helpful at fading hyperpigmentation and dark spots because of the trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide and its natural exfoliant, gluconic acid. As someone who has both dehydrated and acne-prone skin, it’s no wonder that honey is my new favourite skincare ingredient.

I’m From – Honey Mask

I first bought this mask after returning to Perth from my travels. My skin was in need of some major TLC. Luckily, like almost all of the products I purchased upon my return, this product was transformative. Although you could just apply raw honey to your skin, the benefit of using this mask is that it also contains other ingredients of value, like bee venom and propolis extract. Similar to honey, both propolis and bee venom are known for their antimicrobial and wound healing properties. I’m From’s Honey Mask contains 38.7% pure honey, though it doesn’t feel as sticky as real honey would. You can leave it on from anywhere between ten minutes to an hour. Apply it on cleansed skin and once it’s washed off, continue with your skincare routine as per normal.

The main reason I love honey (and the Honey Mask) so much is because of how incredibly plump, soft, and hydrated it leaves my skin feeling. It truly is such a powerful ingredient that does it all. I am still experimenting with new skincare ingredients all the time – you never know what you might stumble upon and what might work for you. Give it a go for yourself and maybe you will find honey is your new favourite skincare ingredient too.

Yours,

Kait x
