Lip products you need to try

I’m not someone who is hugely into make-up, but one thing I do love are lip products. My lips are not naturally pink, so I appreciate a little tinted number. I’ve also always loved the glossy look, but despise that sticky feeling that most lip glosses give you. I’ve collected quite a lot of lip products over the years – trialling and testing to find the best one. It’s safe to say that I have secured a favourites list (finally). Some lip balms, some tinted, some just gloss. But either way, I can’t get enough of them.

Versed – Silk Slip Conditioning Tinted Lip Oil

This is my favourite tinted lip product. By far. I’ve tried so many, believe me. But this one by Versed is the perfect amount of colour and shine, without being too subtle, too bright, or sticky. It comes in three different colours – blossom (light pink), ruby (bright red), and fig (dark red). I have fig and it’s so perfect for my skin tone. I only apply a little bit to get a light tint, but if you like a brighter colour then just apply more (it’s pretty pigmented). You can layer it over the top of a lip balm and / or apply a gloss over the top. But it’s perfect on its own, too.

Charlotte Tilbury – Pillow Talk Collagen Lip Bath

Pillow Talk is the glossiest out of all of the products I’m going to mention. It doesn’t have much of a tint (a subtle pinky nude), so sometimes I apply it over the top of the lip tint for a fuller effect. Unlike some other glosses I’ve tried, it doesn’t feel super sticky. There’s a slight stick, but not much. It looks so pretty on. I wear it on those days where I am going out somewhere and I want to look a bit more elevated and girly. Like the name suggests, it’s got collagen, vitamin A, marula oil, and peppermint oil. A perfect combination of ingredients.

Laneige – Lip Sleeping Mask

If you’re looking for softer lips, you need this product. It’s made by a Korean skincare brand, so naturally, I’m in love with it. Similarly to the product I’m going to mention next, I have been using this one for such a long time. I started off using it just before I went to sleep (it’s called a sleeping mask, duh), but then I couldn’t resist using it during the day, too. It is the ultimate sheer daytime gloss, without being sticky at all. It’s also incredibly hydrating. And that’s not all – it also comes in so many different… colours? Flavours? My favourite is the mint choco.

Burt’s Bees – Beeswax Lip Balm

I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve tried pretty much every brand of lip balm out there. It’s a product that I can’t live without, and something I’m so picky about. When I started using the Burt’s Bees beeswax lip balm, I stopped searching. I prefer using the tin over the stick. This lasts such a long time (you don’t have to keep re-applying every 10 minutes like most others) and it leaves your lips soft. It’s 100% natural, so doesn’t have that synthetic taste and also contains peppermint oil, so it’s a little tingly when you apply it. Because it’s a matte finish, I usually apply the lip tint oil or collagen lip gloss over the top.

If you love lip products and are looking for some new ones to try, give these a go. Whether you layer them or apply them on their own, they make a great addition to any skincare or make-up routine.

Yours,

Kait x
