Summer skincare favourites

Before the arrival of summer, I needed to compile a favourites list (for both you and I) of skincare for the warmer months. I have oily, acne-prone skin, so I usually always use products that are on the lighter side. But, I do change it up depending on the season. For summer, I focus on keeping my skin well hydrated and bright. An effective oil cleanser, chemical exfoliant, vitamin C, and a protective sunscreen are essentials, of course. But without a good toner and light gel moisturiser, my skin ends up dehydrated and greasy. I have three favourite skincare products that I’ll be using over the summer months that I’ll be sharing here with you.

Anua – Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner

While I usually don’t go for very watery toners, this one is great for the warmer months. It’s super easy to layer (try this method to achieve plump, glowy skin) and it absorbs straight in. The main ingredient – heartleaf extract – works especially well for acne-prone skin because it soothes and calms any redness or irritation. The thing I love the most about this toner is that the ingredients are very simple. It means that I can layer other toners, essences or serums over the top to create that perfect combination of hydration and brightness that I’m after in the summertime.

Numbuzin – No. 3 Super Glowing Essence Toner

This essence toner is a glow bomb. And while neither the Anua or the Numbuzin toners are enough on their own for my parched skin, the combination of the two works wonders. It may even be better than my favourite duo. They are both light enough that they can be layered and not feel too much in the heat. This Numbuzin essence toner contains 50 different types of fermented ingredients, which help to strengthen the skin barrier, and improve tone and texture. Even within such a short time of using this product, my skin became so much brighter.

Torriden – Dive-In Hyaluronic Acid Soothing Cream

I thought that my obsession with the Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream by Etude House would be forever. And while it is still in my top two, there’s a new sheriff in town. Torriden’s soothing cream is beautifully blue and jelly-like. It’s designed to be deeply hydrating, soothing, and revitalising. Not only does it satisfy all of those aspects, it’s also incredibly refreshing when you apply it to your skin. The aftermath of the application is a subtle glow – perfect for a dewy look, without being sticky, greasy or heavy for summer. It’s perfection.

While these three Korean beauties belong on my summer skincare favourites list, make sure to pick out products that suit your skin type and condition. And don’t forget the sunscreen!

Yours,

Kait x
